Example
Here is a brief example of how the CLC Education Package is used for a bioinformatics course:Before the course, the teacher selects the relevant lessons from the topics covered by the CLC Education Package. Each lesson is a stand-alone lecture, so the teacher can combine the lessons according to the curriculum of the course.
Each week in this 12-week course consists of a lecture by the teacher followed by practical exercises by the students.
For the lecture, the teacher uses the slides and handouts provided by CLC bio. Before the lecture, the students will have read the "Bioinformatics Explained" paper with a basic introduction to the subject.
In the practical lessons that follow, the students solve the exercises provided by CLC bio. They use CLC Main Workbenches installed on the university computers*. Many of the students watch a video tutorial explaining the functionality of the Workbench before they start working on the exercises.
The lessons are concluded with an examination of the results of the exercises guided by the teacher's list of correct answers and explanations, which is included in the teacher's part of the education package.
* It is also possible to install the Workbenches on the students' own computers.
