Purchase vs. Rental
The price of CLC Educational Package depends on the number of software licenses needed, what kind of software is needed, and whether the software is purchased or rented.
When software is acquired for educational purposes, all educational materials (slides, handouts, tutorials, exercises, and background reading) as well as user support are included in the price.
Purchase
Purchasing licenses is recommended where the college/university provides desktop computers for the students.
Example:
1 teacher, 20 students, course duration: 3 months
Courses per year: 4
Teacher gets a full license for CLC Main Workbench
Full licenses for CLC Main Workbench installed on 20 desktop computers used for bioinformatics teaching
A license for CLC Bioinformatics Cell included
Rental
A rental licensing model is recommended if students bring their own computers
Example:
1 teacher, 20 students, course duration: 3 months
Courses per year: 2
Teacher gets a full license for CLC Main Workbench
Students attending the course get a full license for CLC Main Workbench valid for 3 months
A CLC Bioinformatics Cell valid for 3 months included
